An extract from Figeac’s Tourism Office :
Located on the east bank of the Lot river, the large territory of the “Pays de Figeac” draws its character from the valleys of the Lot and the Célé rivers. Close to the major sights such as Cahors, Conques or Rocamadour, it boasts beautiful villages: Cajarc, Faycelles, Capdenac-Le-Haut... The landscapes are varied between the Causses du Quercy and the foothills of the Massif Central. While hiking or cycling, you will unveil the natural and the authenticity that the Grand FIGEAC has to offer. Welcome to the land of excellent local produce and gastronomy: truffle, foie gras, lamb, melon du Quercy... also renowned for its festivals: Figeac’s Theatre Festival, Musical Encounters, Africajarc...
